No tornado. No unappetizing agricultural aromas. Not a drop of rain until midnight — and even then it was a shower that couldn’t make a handkerchief wet, let alone a blanket.
The tent stayed up. The mosquitoes stayed dead. The heat and humidity of previous days stayed away. The food drew raves. The DJ and bartender were congenial …
And, oh yeah, a marriage began.
L-R: My younger daughter, Caitlin (bridesmaid); my younger son, Benjamin (best man); the bride and groom (Roxanne and Justin: the bride's sister, Rachael (maid of honor) and groom's best bud, Jeff Struck (groomsman).

Congrats all the way around and thanks for sharing the photos too. Lovely setting and family and friends. And, anyone that begins with purples as one of their colors has to be on the right track! (I realize too, it was a favorite color for Jessica.) May God bless all of you well and often!

AnonEmouse: Great memory regarding Jessica. She LOVED purple. And, by the way, the day of the wedding - June 27 - was her birthday. I figured she'd take care of the weather, and she came through for us. Thanks for your good wishes.

Speaking of pics ... When I got married, we waited months to see our photos. In my son's case, they were on line the next day, along with a video on YouTube. Instant grat!

I'm sure Jessica appreciated you including her in the wedding by having it on her birthday!

My thoughts were with you on that perfect day. Thank you for sharing the photos. So how long do you think it will be before you get to post about being a grandpa!?

I dig the purple too (second in my heart only to green)! Welcome back John.

Ha. Michael Motta - you surprise me. All the lively rhetoric you provide - I would have pegged you for a red kinda guy! Just goes to show ya never know....

Well I'm sympathetic to the Green Party and I'm a Spartan (plus I kinda liked green before those two things happened). Purple goes well with green. Some might call me a Red or pinko politically! I mean the old fashioned kind of Red, not this "red state/blue state" kind!
Thanks for taking the time to have noticed my "lively rhetoric" Librasun!
