Rick Washburn recently participated in a funeral procession, and was shocked by the “disrespect” displayed by other drivers.
In an e-mail to me, Washburn, who lives in Grand Ledge, wrote:
“People used us to run red lights and drive through intersections.” Others cut into the procession, blasted their horns, and raced past the hearse, adding insult to an already sad day.
Cops will tell you that in this day of road rage, when patience in traffic is a dwindling commodity, it may be time to play Taps for funeral processions on public roads.
