Now I’m worried. An Asian carp showed up within six miles of Lake Michigan — on the wrong side of the electric barrier that was supposed to keep the invading mongrels out of the Great Lakes.
The Great Lakes sport fishery — a major source of enrichment for anglers like me — is already on the ropes in some respects (the salmon disappearing from Lake Huron, for example). If the gluttonous carp get it, it’s all over.
Is anybody paying attention …?
