In case you haven’t heard, Gov.-elect Rick Snyder plans to re-split the DNRE (formerly the DNR) into the departments of Environmental Quality and Natural Resources.
As you may recall, Gov. John Engler split the DNR into the DNR and DEQ in 1995.
Then, just last year, Gov. Jennifer Granholm put them back into one package (DNRE).
Now, it’s back to DNR and DEQ.
How much taxpayer money has been wasted on these ridiculous games?
Is this all about greasing the skids for developers seeking permits?
