As a library promotion (www.geekthelibrary.org), the folks at the East Lansing branch want to put my mug on a local billboard, but only if I’m willing to declare what I “geek” (feel passionate about).
There’s my face, and the words, “I geek …,” then I fill in the blank with whatever I want.
My first choice: “I geek … allowing nouns to remain nouns,” but, on second thought, since I agreed to participate, I guess it would be ungracious of me to be peevish.
So, what else? “I geek … baseball? Salmon fishing? A well-turned phrase? Deer camp? Gratitude? The power of the press? Peace and love? Station wagons? My Christmas tree plantation? My 20-year-old L.L. Bean boots?
See what I mean?
