Speaking of longevity, as I was in Friday’s column …
Ninety-six-year-old Florence Drullinger emailed me — emailed! — to tell me the remarkable story of her durable family.
Drullinger wrote:
“My father and mother (Ben and Blanche Carter, who were married 70 years) had 5 children, and all seven of us reached the 90’s and beyond.
“Dad lived to just over 100 years; mother, to 97; their oldest child, to 96. I am presently 96, our twin sisters are 95, and our only brother reached 90 last January.”
