In general, I dislike institutionalized “holiday” cards, especially ones that arrive before Thanksgiving. I must admit, however that the one I retrieved from my office mail box Monday — from Fenner Nature Center — gave me a chuckle.
The front of the card says, “Wishing you a holiday season filled with mud, snow and ice.”
Inside, the folks a Fenner point out that nature trails may get a little sloppy, but remain navigable all year long.
So, as my wife used to tell my younger daughter when she was going through her princess phase, “Go out there and get dirty!”
