OK, I’m trying to see all sides of the issue … How is it NOT common sense that a millionaire’s tax rate should be at least as high as his secretary’s tax rate?
Let’s sharpen our pencils … Say the secretary is paying 20 percent on 50K a year; that leaves her 40K to live on. And say the boss, earning $5 million a year, also pays 20 percent. That leaves him $4 million to live on.
I could live with that; couldn’t you?
