Sunday’s column about my imminent departure from the LSJ drew
many generous comments from readers; one, however, gave my wife and me a good laugh at the breakfast table.
Jean Rademacher, who described herself as a “long-time reader,” emailed: “Before you leave your position, could you please find out for me when YaYa's will reopen? I have seen signs without a date, lights without people, and (the chicken joint) is still not open …!
I must point out that Rademacher went on to say she’ll miss my column, etc., etc, adding, “Good luck and I hope you are able to find an answer to my question.”
Writing's writing, but good chicken, well ... that's something else.
It kind of puts things in perspective, eh?
