Reader Mark Feuss argues that even a high school graduation tassel can kill.
Responding to Friday’s column about things that can be dangled from rear-view mirrors, and things that can’t, Feuss wrote: “Holding my thumb up at arm’s length and looking out at the neighbor’s shed, my thumb blocks out the whole 8-foot-wide door at approx 150 feet away.
How long would a motorcycle traveling at 35 mph take to cover the 150 feet, and how long would the motorcyclist be hidden by that tasseI?
“Take the ‘discretion’ factor out of that equation altogether and we make it safer for everyone”.
