It should be noted that the press corps is somewhat divided on the never-ending QB story, with some believing that Keith Nichol should be handed the keys right now. In my opinion, Kirk Cousins is the easy choice. For right now.

The Spartans hit the practice field in shorts and helmets for a rare Sunday night practice, a little more than an hour to get Wisconsin buried and Michigan in focus. MSU usually starts its practice week Tuesday.

Nitchman at left guard, Jenrette starting

    MSU just announced its starting offensive lineup via Twitter. Joel Nitchman at left guard with John Stipek at center. Caulton Ray is starting at RB, Kirk Cousins at QB as expected, and the receivers, surprisingly, are listed as Blair White and Keshawn Martin.

MSU helping out

Mark Dantonio will be one of thousands of coaches this weekend wearing an armband with the Coach to Cure MD logo on it. The program is designed to raise awareness and help fight Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood. It affects mostly boys, about 1 in 3,500 worldwide.
