Penn State fires first shot

Sports talk, eh? Big win over Virginia for Penn State and the Big Ten tonight, one the Nittany Lions needed after some early struggles. And one the league needed if it wants to win the ACC/Big Ten Challenge for the first time in 11 tries.

Waiting game

What happened? Who is charged with what? That's the news, and it may be some time until it emerges. In its absence, here's what we know so far about Rather-potluck-ski-mask-gate.

106 for 341

Tom Izzo on his chase for the all-time MSU wins record after Friday's loss to Florida: "Big deal." Izzo after actually attaining the record Saturday: A soaked suit. Red, moist eyes. And a "341" plaque devised by equipment manager Dave Pruder and presented by his players.

Lucas out, back in

MSU starters vs. Florida

Lucas, Summers, Morgan, Sherman, Roe. Gotta go big against Florida. I'll give some updates when possible. Enjoy the game ... for those who have HDNet!

MSU-Florida primer

The latest, courtesy of MSU hoops SID Matt Larson: Kalin Lucas had a foot infection this week, but he practiced Thursday and will play tonight against Florida. This team needs a holiday visit from Dr. Scholl's.
