Locals Only: Narc Out the Reds, Josh David and the Dream Jeans, More Unite for Greater Lansing Food Bank Benefit
Good musicians make good music, and great musicians make great music, plus give back.
Thankfully, plenty of the latter are in Mid-Michigan, as the local scene readies for a benefit concert helping the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
Local booker Todd E. Karinen put the show together, which happens Thursday, Feb. 3 at Mac’s in Lansing. His last benefit show raised over $350 and four giant boxes of food for the Bank.
"With this show and other benefit shows, it really goes to show the compassion and caring that’s alive in the Lansing music scene," he said. "Musicians have such a great gift in that not only can they donate their time, but also their skills for making people happy and helping out the needy in their community."
This year’s line-up is made up of local guys Josh David And The Dream Jeans, The Playback, Narc Out The Reds, The Plurals, and The Jackpine Snag.
"There is nothing like putting together a show with a bunch of bands that you consider friends, and for a cause like the Greater Lansing Food Bank," Karinen said.
"You don't need an excuse to do a benefit show, but when you can put one together with bands you like and respect, it's even more special."
