Goodbye Rothbury, Hello Electric Forest Festival - Festival Outlook

 
It's official: Rothbury Music Festival may not be back this year, but a new fest is stepping into its place.

Officials at Double JJ Resort - where Rothury was staged in 2008 and 2009 - confirmed the Electric Forest Festival will take place June 30 - July 3, 2011, the same weekend as Rothbury. One of the early confirmed headliners was Rothbury vets The String Cheese Incident.

As for the rest of the line-up, it dropped today and includes Tiesto, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Edward Shape and the Magnetic Zeros, Stephen Marley, Kaskade (left), Eoto, Railroad Earth, The Macpodz and more to be announced.

If you head to Rothbury's Facebook page, you'll notice the line-up is getting mixed reviews. Rothbury, which pulled more than 30,000 people each of its two years, booked mainstream players as Snoop Dogg, Zappa Plays Zappa, 311 and Widespread Panic. Electric Forest Festival, instead, is pulling acts a bit more under the radar.
