Weekend Riff: Foxy Shazam, Alco and More!

-Friday: Longstanding East Lansing indie rock band Alco (above) play their final show, which also serves as a CD release show, at the Loft on Friday. The band have been active in the Lansing and Mid-Michigan community for over five years. Alco will surely be missed, but let’s hope for a reunion show at some point!

-Saturday: Popular Ohio-based psychedelic group the Werks return to Mac’s in Lansing. For more on the show, visit the band’s Facebook page.

-All Weekend: A new yoga and spinning studio opens in Okemos this weekend, and they’re offering free classes just for the occasion. Yoga State of Mind, Body, & Soul, LLC, will give free classes Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. The studio is located at 1801 Central Park Drive in Okemos, right across the street from Maru Sushi and next to Denny's Central Park Bicycles near the intersection of Central Park Dr. and Marsh Rd. As for music, all of the teachers will play their own favorites during the classes from a wide variety of genres. Let’s hope for some hard rock in there!

-Sunday and Monday: Foxy Shazam plays the Intersection in Grand Rapids Sunday and the Loft in Lansing Monday, and both of the shows are rescheduled from the band’s original gigs, booked for early April.
