Rob Klajda (of the Lash), 'Trust' - Free Music Download

Rob-Klajda-Bonnie Bucqueroux
Rob Klajda is one of the most respected musicians in mid-Michigan. Not only has Klajda played with the Lash, the Hardwires and the Simpletons over the years, but he also has an active solo career. He releases his latest CD, "Hopening," this Thursday (Dec. 13) at Moriarty’s Pub in Lansing, and a chunk of CD sales at the show will go to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

Klajda is cool enough to let us offer this free download of his track "Trust" exclusively right here! Download the song below.

Klajda’s inspiration for the album was his 2-year-old daughter. “I wanted to put together a collection of some of my favorite material for her,” he said. “Even though I have released three discs with The Lash and a few other recordings with other bands, I've never done an actual solo disc. It's hardly solo, though, as it features a huge cast of musicians, including Andy Wilson, Jen Sygit, Rachael Davis, Drew Howard, Lindsay Lou and many more.

“Another thing I'd hoped to accomplish is to break the notion that I only play Irish music. Irish music is one thing I can play- with this album people will see my writing skills are a bit more diverse than that.”

So, what’s the most important thing Klajda have learned about playing music over the years?

“That's easy: Surround yourself with brilliant musicians,” he said. “Don't ever try to be the best person in the band. Strive to be the weak link in a very strong chain. The better you make other musicians look, the better they make you look.”
