Wedding watch (WW) '08

159 days to go!
If you read my column, "Quarter-life crisis" in the LSJ Life Section than you know that I am well on my way to being a bride. (Please feel free to buy and wear the pin seen here; I totally understand).

But the truth is there are a lot of future brides out there and as wedding season approaches we kinda need each other.

I've been engaged for a month now so wedding plans are in full motion. I figure I'll use this blog (and probably my column too) as a way to talk/ vent about wedding planning and weddings in general.

I'm not gonna lie. All of that mushy, wedding stuff isn't exactly my favorite. But ya know, it's happening so I figure I might as well share and see if there are other future (or past) brides with tips or ideas.

I joined theknot.com because I figured that's what brides do.
To say the least that sight is overwhelming. I have five months until my wedding and apparently I am already overdue on about 43 things and have about 150 things left to do.
I'm using the site as a guideline because honestly if I used every portion of that sight I might never get work done.

Anyway so far I've got:
The dress
The shoes
The date
The venue
The wedding party
oh yeah, and the groom

I've also go the invites picked out (but not ordered), the menu choices (but not picked) a budget (but not met) and a guest list (but not finalized) I think that's pretty good so far.

And oh yeah as if planning a wedding wasn't hectic enough I've decided to get married just SEVEN days after my best friend. So I've got bridesmaid and bride duties all rolled into one fun filled five month period.

Yes, I'm crazy. But I figure if there is one control freak, semi non romantic who can pull it off, It's me.

So how about you ladies out there. Who else is planning a wedding?? What is bugging you?? What challenges are you facing today??

Keep an eye out for more Wedding Watch updates from yours truly :)
