Willing to road trip for a good burger?
Obviously I am or how else would I know about this. Anyway on Saturday Matt and I headed to Ann Arbor to visit our friend Joe.
While there Joe suggested we grab lunch at this place call Sidetracks. Turns out they have world famous burgers featured on Oprah and in GQ.
Gotta love Oprah because she was right. The burger was dang good, even better were the hand cut sweet potato fries with special dipping sauce. Another huge bonus to Sidetracks was the adorable atmosphere. It was quaint and cute and had a big old fire going in the fireplace, perfect considering we were there on a super cold and rainy day. They also offer premium beers on tap...meaning poor Miller Lite lover me had to drink my beer out of a bottle while Joe and Matt, being the premium beer drinkers they are got to enjoy theirs on tap.
And while the burger was amazing I have to say it still isn't my favorite burger. That title belongs to a burger back in my home town of Lapeer from a place called Cavelli's. There is nothing in the world like a Cavelli burger. It's huge, it's cheap and it pretty much comes with unlimited toppings. While it may not be on Oprah or in GQ this is definitely a burger I road trip for (of course we get to see our parents while we are there so that is nice too). Anyway Cavelli's atmosphere isn't as cute as Sidetracks but there is a car in the bar which is...different and I"m a sucker for small town bars.
Anyway I recommend checking out either of these places next time you're in the mood for a drive and good burger!

1) It's called Sidetrack Bar & Grill.
2) It's in Ypsilanti.
