Do you like the logo of the Lansing Lugnuts? If you think it's one of the best in minor league sports, you can vote for it on a CNBC poll by writer Darren Rovell. In the Second Annual CNBC.com Minor League Baseball Logo Awards, running through March 31, Rovell set-up brackets (like the NCAA tournament) with 64 teams going head-to-head. The public then votes during each match-up.

Last night I joined some GLW staffers and readers for the free spinning class at The Mac.
It was a great workout, so great in fact I had to tone down most of it in order to not die.
Spinning means you're on an exercise bike basically. The instructor told us to start at 40 percent, which should feel like you're riding around the block. Throughout the workout, what felt like riding around the block became more like I was riding through a marathon bike race, but ya know I was trying.

So I visited the family in Ohio this weekend and spent Saturday morning playing golf with my dad and my brother-in-law-to-be. Considering this was the first time I had played golf in a little over two years, I was reasonably happy with my play. For one, I hit the ball reasonably straight. Granted it would only go about 75 yards every time I hit it, but only once did I have to go searching somewhere way off the fairway to find my ball. I also was pretty handy with my wedge and the putter.

Looking back on my weekend, I probably watched a good 12 hours of football, and I can honestly say, I'm hungry for more. I went to my second MSU game Saturday and despite some of the worst officiating I've ever seen (one call on a Bowling Green fumble was beyond horrible) the Spartans beat Bowling Green despite their kicker's inability to make short field goals.

For the record, I'm not a huge baseball fan. While I appreciate the American pastime quality to it, the sport sort of bores me. Growing up, I played soccer (and no, the irony doesn't escape me that I'm criticizing baseball for being boring) and tennis. But I always hated when I'd go over to my best friend's house growing up and we'd ALWAYS play some form of baseball. Maybe it's because I always got stuck pitching and fielding the ball to him (he was a fairly decent hitter) and never got much time on the mound (I wasn't the best at hitting back then and he could always whiz the ball by me). So it may seem odd that I'm on the NOISE/LSJ softball team this year.

OK, so this is LONG overdue, but I need to send a shoutout to the NOISE Softball team which took first place in the Lansing Parks and Rec 2006 Fall Softball Coed Division 1 with a record of 8-4. Ironically, no one from the actual NOISE staff is on the team - which is probably a good thing considering that some of us are not really athletically gifted and some of us (OK, me) can get winded just from walking up to our office. (Yes, I'm pathetically out of shape.)

I've pride myself on not having a TV addiction, but I think I finally do. I can't get enough of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
