And they're off

Food5k
Dozens of kids aged 2 to six competed in the 100-yard dash before the Lansing Dietetic Association’s Food & Fitness 5K Run/Walk at Hawk Island Park Saturday morning. 549 participants turned out for the 27th annual event.

On a side note, I only had one decent image of the Food and Fitness 5K because right after the 100-yard dash, I threw my camera in a friend's car and ran the 5K race myself. 23:07, a personal record! I'm training for Hawk Island Triathlon on June 1. Check out my co-worker Amanda's blog Kick Asphalt about prepping for her first triathlon...

With team names like Still Kickin', The Misfits, Recreational Hazard, and Jello Shots, you know this co-ed kickball league is about old school fun. "It's fun. I haven't done it since elementary. It's not as easy as people think it is, that's for sure," said Brian Neller, 24, after making a tough catch in the outfield at Nancy Moore Park in Haslett recently.
